Superfood Cold Remedy with Ginger

This is my go-to remedy for head colds, congestion, sore throats, and flu.

This infusion will help rid you of that cold you're nursing. Make sure you use all organic ingredients. It makes a world of difference.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup fresh ginger, coarsely grated
  2. Filtered water
  3. 1 lemon, halved
  4. 2-3 tablespoons raw honey
  5. (Optional) 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric, per mug
  6. (Optional) 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, per mug
Instructions
  1. Heat 3-4 cups of filtered water in a tea kettle.
  2. Put the freshly grated ginger in a medium sauce pan. Pour the hot water over the ginger. Cover with a lid. Place over a medium-low flame.
  3. Simmer the ginger at least 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid, pour strained ginger-infused water into two big mugs, squeeze half a lemon over each cup, and stir in a tablespoon (or more) of raw honey. Add a pinch of cayenne and turmeric, if you want.
