Energizing Ginger Berry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 small chunk of ginger (about an inch, coarsely grated or chopped)
  • 1 lemon (peeled, quartered)
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries (strawberries, raspberries (or any combination you prefer))
  • 1 banana (peeled, chopped)
  • 1 stalk of celery (chopped)
  • ½ cup fresh parsley or mint (leaves and stems)
  • 23 big leaves of kale (chopped)
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • Filtered water
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Place berries, ginger, lemon, banana, and protein powder in a blend with just barely enough water to cover and blend.
  2. Add the celery, parsley, and kale, and blend until smooth.
  3. Once smooth, add as much ice as you want, and blend again until incorporated, about 30 seconds.
  4. Drink immediately.
