Superfood Ginger Honey Cold Remedy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh ginger (coarsely grated)
  • Filtered water
  • 1 lemon (halved)
  • 23 tablespoons raw honey
  • Optional ½ teaspoon ground turmeric, per mug
  • Optional ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, per mug

Instructions

  1. Heat 3-4 cups of filtered water in a tea kettle.
  2. Put the freshly grated ginger in a medium sauce pan. Pour the hot water over the ginger. Cover with a lid. Place over a medium-low flame.
  3. Simmer the ginger at least 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid, pour strained ginger-infused water into two big mugs, squeeze half a lemon over each cup, and stir in a tablespoon (or more) of raw honey. Add a pinch of cayenne and turmeric, if you want.
