Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh ginger (coarsely grated)
- Filtered water
- 1 lemon (halved)
- 2–3 tablespoons raw honey
- Optional ½ teaspoon ground turmeric, per mug
- Optional ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, per mug
Instructions
- Heat 3-4 cups of filtered water in a tea kettle.
- Put the freshly grated ginger in a medium sauce pan. Pour the hot water over the ginger. Cover with a lid. Place over a medium-low flame.
- Simmer the ginger at least 15 minutes.
- Strain the liquid, pour strained ginger-infused water into two big mugs, squeeze half a lemon over each cup, and stir in a tablespoon (or more) of raw honey. Add a pinch of cayenne and turmeric, if you want.
