Energizing Ginger Berry Smoothie

This smoothie is great during the winter when you need a little extra energy and antioxidant support. The ginger gives it zip, and the berries and banana keep it sweet. This is the plant-based protein powder we use in the smoothie (for a boost and for full gastrointestinal support).

Ingredients
  1. 1 small chunk of ginger (about an inch), coarsely grated or chopped
  2. 1 lemon, peeled, quartered
  3. 1 cup frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries (or any combination you prefer)
  4. 1 banana, peeled, chopped
  5. 1 stalk of celery, chopped
  6. 1/2 cup parsley, leaves and stems
  7. 2-3 big leaves of kale, chopped
  8. 1 scoop protein powder
  9. Filtered water
  10. Ice
Instructions
  1. Place berries, ginger, lemon, banana, and protein powder in a blend with just barely enough water to cover and blend.
  2. Add the celery, parsley, and kale, and blend until smooth.
  3. Once smooth, add as much ice as you want, and blend again until incorporated, about 30 seconds.
  4. Drink immediately.
